Communication Strategies: Getting the Most from Your Hearing Aids and Beyond
Hearing aids are only one part of good communication. Join us on Thursday, March 26, for an interactive class on communication strategies that will help you and your loved ones get more out of every conversation.
In this class, you'll learn what hearing aids can and cannot do so you know what to expect from your devices, practical communication techniques to reduce frustration for both listeners and speakers, and ways your family and friends can better communicate with and support you. Dr. Barragan will also walk you through simple environmental changes you can make at home or in social settings that can make a big difference in how well you hear, along with an overview of assistive listening devices that work alongside your hearing aids to improve your listening experience in challenging situations.
This class is designed for people with hearing loss and the loved ones who communicate with them. Whether you've been wearing hearing aids for years or are just beginning your hearing journey, we encourage you to bring a family member or friend.
About Your Instructor
Dr. Elizabeth Barragan is a Doctor of Audiology and Sacramento Valley native with extensive experience in hearing aids, aural rehabilitation, and tinnitus management. She is passionate about improving her patients' quality of life through better hearing and communication. In addition to her clinical work at The Hearing Solution, Dr. Barragan teaches the incoming Doctor of Audiology class at Sacramento State University and has been featured on ABC10 as an expert on hearing aid technology.
